Summary at a Glance

At JeeCharge, we value your privacy above all. We only collect the data necessary to locate compatible EV charging points, initiate power delivery, calculate session costs, and provide live vehicle telemetry. We do not sell your personal data to any third parties or advertisers.

1. Introduction

Welcome to JeeCharge (“JeeCharge”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you access or use the JeeCharge mobile applications (iOS and Android), website located at jeecharge.app, software, and our electric vehicle (EV) charging discovery and session control services (collectively, the “Services”).

By downloading our application, creating an account, scanning a JeeCharge-compatible charging station QR code, or otherwise using our Services, you consent to the collection and handling of your information as outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of our Services.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a seamless, reliable, and high-speed EV charging experience, we collect information you provide directly, data generated automatically through app usage, and telemetry collected from connected charging stations.

A. Information You Provide

  • • Account Details: Full name, email address, mobile phone number, and password/PIN.
  • • Vehicle Profile: EV make, model, year, battery capacity (kWh), and compatible connector types (e.g., CCS2, Type 2, CHAdeMO, GB/T).
  • • Customer Support: Communications, feedback, or tickets sent to our support desk.

B. Automatically Collected Data

  • • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifier (IDFA/GAID), language, and network carrier.
  • • Log Data: IP address, browser type, app crashes, performance metrics, and timestamps of interaction.
  • • Usage Statistics: Search queries, saved stations, and interface interactions.

3. Location & GPS Data

Precise geolocation is essential for electric mobility navigation. When you grant location permissions in the JeeCharge mobile application, we collect your precise geographic coordinates (GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular trilateration) to:

  • Display nearby charging hubs, DC fast chargers, and real-time plug availability along your route.
  • Enable turn-by-turn navigation directly to the designated charging bay.
  • Confirm your physical presence at a charging kiosk when initiating a session via QR scan.
  • Detect when your vehicle has disconnected or remained idle in a designated charging space to send timely overstay alerts.
Managing Location Permissions: You can enable or disable precise location permissions at any time via your smartphone’s system settings (iOS: Settings > JeeCharge > Location; Android: Settings > Apps > JeeCharge > Permissions). Please note that disabling location will prevent real-time map discovery and automated charger arrival verification.

4. EV & Charger Telemetry (OCPP Protocol)

During any active charging session initiated through JeeCharge, our backend communicates directly with the physical charging equipment via the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP 1.6J / OCPP 2.0.1). We record and transmit real-time telemetry, including:

Telemetry Metric Source Purpose
Energy Delivered (kWh) Charger Meter (OCPP) Billing calculation, session receipt
Charging Rate (kW) & Voltage Power Electronics Live dashboard curve, thermal throttling monitoring
State of Charge (% SoC) EV BMS (CCS2 / CHAdeMO) Display current vehicle battery level & completion estimate
Start / Stop Timestamps Station Controller Duration tracking, idle fee calculation, audit log

5. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal and technical data collected for specific, legitimate business purposes:

  • Session Operation: Authorizing charging hardware, transmitting start/stop commands, and delivering power safely.
  • Billing & Invoicing: Accurately billing your payment method for electricity consumed (per kWh) and time-based parking or idle fees.
  • Live Telemetry: Streaming power output, battery percentage, and charging progress to your mobile screen.
  • Notifications: Sending transaction receipts, 80% charge notifications, unplug reminders, and station outage warnings.
  • Network Reliability & Load Balancing: Analyzing aggregate charging patterns to predict grid stress, optimize charging station uptime, and plan network expansion.
  • Fraud Prevention & Security: Detecting unauthorized account access, fraudulent chargebacks, and station tampering.

6. Payments & Billing Information

JeeCharge does not store full credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank account credentials on our servers. All financial transactions are processed by certified third-party payment gateway partners that adhere strictly to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS Level 1).

We retain only payment tokens, the card brand (e.g., Visa, Mastercard), the last four digits of the card, and billing postal code to facilitate one-tap repeat charging sessions, in-app wallet management, and dispute resolution.

7. Data Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We disclose information only under the following limited circumstances:

  • Charging Station Operators & Hosts: When you charge at a private or commercial host station (e.g., shopping center, hotel, fleet depot), anonymized session logs (kWh consumed, timestamp, connector ID) are shared with the host for power reconciliation and site accounting.
  • Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors who provide cloud hosting (AWS / Google Cloud), database management, push notifications (Firebase), SMS verification, and payment processing under strict non-disclosure and security agreements.
  • Roaming Network Partners (OCPI): When initiating a session on a federated partner network via OCPI roaming, minimal authentication identifiers are exchanged to unlock the plug.
  • Legal & Regulatory Compliance: If required by valid legal process, court order, subpoena, or governmental authority to comply with electrical safety codes or prevent imminent physical harm.

8. Data Security & Storage

We employ modern administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorized access, alteration, and disclosure:

End-to-End Encryption All data in transit is protected using TLS 1.3 encryption. At-rest database storage is encrypted via AES-256.
Access Control Role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication, and audited internal access protocols.
OCPP Integrity Station communications are secured over TLS WebSockets (WSS) to safeguard charging hardware.

9. Your Privacy Rights & Choices

Depending on your location and jurisdiction (including California CCPA/CPRA, European GDPR, and applicable local privacy regulations), you have specific rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to Access: Request a full copy of the personal information and charging logs we maintain about you.
  • Right to Correction: Update or correct inaccurate account or vehicle profile details.
  • Right to Deletion: Request permanent deletion of your account, payment tokens, and associated history (subject to legal record retention for financial audits).
  • Marketing Preferences: Opt out of promotional newsletters or marketing push alerts at any time via in-app preferences. Transactional alerts (e.g., charge complete, receipts) remain active.
  • Location Access: Revoke GPS permissions at any time through your mobile operating system.

To exercise any of these rights, please email us directly at akshaymhatre3812@gmail.com. We will process your verified request within 30 days.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, provide our charging services, resolve disputes, and comply with tax, corporate, and statutory requirements (e.g., retaining payment invoices for 7 years as required by commercial tax law). When no longer needed, your data is securely deleted or anonymized for aggregated statistical research.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Services are designed exclusively for individuals who hold a valid driver's license and are at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 16 years of age. If we learn that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will take immediate steps to delete such data.
